At first glance the place is very clean and welcoming! Very friendly staff and great music! I got the 1/2 chicken with white rice, pink beans and yucca con mojo, which is oil and garlic sauce. The chicken breast was a little dry but the thigh and drumstick were perfectly seasoned! Beans were a little soupy but tasty. I also got tostones which were incredible! Fried perfectly and served with mayochup and mojo sauces on the side. It's very close to my neighborhood so I'll be a regular for sure.

Steak sandwich is very good especially with cafe con leche! Definitely recommend!! The waitress was also very nice

Authentically delicious!! Checked out this local spot for the first time and was impressed with the tasty authentic grub, good prices, and great staff. My meal= Chicken Stew (w/ white rice & black beans) and Maduros (Sweet Plantains) Will surely be returning and recommend others do so too!

I came across this charming little Cuban restaurant one day while driving through the Logan Square area. I'm glad I came back to try the eats! The Cuban fried rice with chicken will make your knees buckle. It comes with a side of plantains. The pastries and empanadas are worth tasting as well. The server was extremely nice and personable. The art on the walls was bright and lovely.

Tropicuba is a neighborhood cuban (but also Puerto Rican) joint that has amazing food. My friend and I both got the ropa vieja which is probs the best ropa vieja I've ever had. Tender meat, cooked perfectly, in a sauce that is heart, filling, juicy and just wonderful. It also came with sides! It came with fried plantains and rice. It seems like there's different types of rice and the one I had had pork and beans in it so just a heads up on that. In addition I had fried yucca which was perfect, slightly sweet, and comforting. I also had a passion fruit agua which was really nice! All in all a great meal here and a lovely neighborhood spot! Great prices, great service, truly a neighborhood gem!

For my money, Chicago's Cuban eateries provide some of the best value meals in town. On this visit, I stopped in at Tropicuba with my daughter, who lives nearby. We were in search of a quick breakfast before heading to a morning class we had booked. Tropicuba hit the mark with a super tasty, affordable and substantial bacon and egg sandwich and a delicious cafe con leche to get me going. Service was prompt and attentive. Definitely looking forward to going back when I'm not in a rush to try a Cuban sandwich and some of the many tempting sides on offer.

Ordered take-out. Cuban sandwich was good. Not a huge fan of them to begin with but it was good. Yucca was very good and they gave a huge portion.....felt like it weighed at least a pound. Came with white garlic sauce and a hot sauce. Espresso was amazing. Huge, huge fan. Chicken stew was very, very good. They piled on the Cuban rice. Take-out carton weighed a ton. Really good portion of chicken stew...and they threw in some plantains and bread. Check-in with Yelp yielded a free beef empanada. Was good though again here I am not a huge fan of empanadas. Inside is very inviting and not overwhelming. Very relaxing and colorful. Will be back to dine in as well. Was very, very happy with the take-out.
